Blessed with rich volcanic soils lakes and wetlands,
discover why early settlers made Derrinallum their home over 150 years ago

Derrinallum lies at the foot of one of Victoria's most significant volcanic peaks, Mount Elephant, which can be seen from 60km in all directions. The picturesque township is a hub for the local farming community and is surrounded by lakes, grazing cattle, sheep, canola fields and a network of dry stone walls.
Derrinallum is 2 hours west of Melbourne and 1 hour from Geelong, Warrnambool and Ballarat, and is located just west of the main arterial road network that connects the Great Ocean Road with the Goldfields region around Ballarat to the north.
The town's growth and early pastoral history are connected to the wool industry, with Derrinallum an important stop on the historic Wool Track between Hamilton and the Port of Geelong.
